Acupuncture Treatments
What is Acupuncture?
This treatment is done by inserting a very thin needle into the tissue. It is believed that acupuncture points stimulate the central nervous system. This then can release chemicals within the body. These chemicals can then stimulate the innate healing properties and ability of the body to heal. Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique that balances the flow of energy or life force known as chi or qi (chee).
Will acupuncture work for me?
Generally within three treatments of acupuncture you will know if acupuncture is helping. In Chinese medicine, acupuncture is not used alone. Other components such as lifestyle habits, thoughts, and emotions may contribute to pain. This is why Chiropractic care is recommended with acupuncture.
Is Acupuncture safe?
Yes, acupuncture is safe because we use sterile, disposable needles. Possible risks from acupuncture include but are not limited to slight bleeding, bruising, swelling, headache and fainting. People may also experience a temporary increase of pain during and/or following the treatment.
Where are needles placed?
Needles are typically placed in the areas where your pain is located, but may also be placed in a completely different area of your body.
Does it hurt?
It hurts less than an injection, it can be described as an ache, sore, or warm feeling. In fact, most people barely feel anything when needles are inserted. Some people feel a slight pinch, and others ask “Is it in yet?” Acupuncture needles are solid, flexible, and very, very thin (about the width of two hairs).
How long does it take?
Typically treatments last 15-20 minutes. Your first appointment may be longer for patient history and to understand what treatment goals are to be achieved.

We will come into the room and insert the acupuncture needles, close the bed around you so that you are surronded by the Red Light and far infared lights and you will leave the needles in during a 20 minute session of Red Light Therapy, receiving both the benefits of Acupuncture while allowing the Red and NIR lasers feed your cells with energy to expidite the healing process.
